What's happening
ADHD and parcel returns can turn a two-minute job into a three-week one. The trainers don't fit, so they go back in the box "to post tomorrow". Then the box sits by the door, gets moved to the hall, and by the time you look again the refund window has gone.
Sending something back is a string of small, boring steps, and each one is a place to stall. The NHS lists being forgetful and finding it hard to finish tasks as common ADHD signs.
How to get moving
Decide while the parcel is still open. If it's going back, don't put it down: start the return on the retailer's website straight away, save the QR code or label to your phone and repack it in the same bag or box.
Put the parcel on top of your shoes or hang it on the front door handle, so you physically have to move it to leave. Then set a reminder for your next trip out with the drop-off point in it. Under UK rules for online orders, you usually get 14 days from delivery to say you're cancelling, then another 14 to send it back.
Important tip
The job isn't finished when the parcel leaves your hands. Take a photo of the drop-off receipt, then set a reminder for two weeks later that says "Has the refund landed?" Sellers have to refund you within 14 days of getting the item back, so if the money hasn't arrived by then, you've got the receipt ready and a clear reason to chase it.
